COMMUNITY 150th PROJECTS PROGRAMME

For seven decades the Lions have bought equipment, built structures and held special events that have helped make Bayfield a much-loved place to live, work and play.  To celebrate Bayfield’s 150-year history in 2026, the Lions have dedicated $10,000 to provide grants of up to $1000 for projects that meet the Goals of the Lions 150th Anniversary Programme..  These project ideas will be developed by other community groups and are not required to involve the Lions beyond the role of funding partner.

Goals of the Lions 150th Anniversary Programme:

  • create awareness and celebration of Bayfield’s 150th anniversary,
  • sponsor arts, culture and heritage projects that feature Bayfield’s 150 years,
  • facilitate projects that enhance the health and vitality of our community in the        context of the landmark year,
  • encourage collaborative partnerships with the ability to create events that attract a wider audience,
  • mount cultural activities that promote shoulder-month tourism, enhance community pride, and impact quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

Be sure to email your completed project application before midnight, January 12, 2026.  Please respect the closing deadline, there will be no exceptions.

* Approval notices will be emailed February 11-13, 2026.

* Funds will be distributed on or before February 28,2026.

PROJECT PROPOSAL FORM

The Bayfield Lions Club is here to help!  We want to see your project succeed.

WHO CAN USE THIS FORM: If your organization is a community group, not-for-profit, club or society, then use this form for your proposal.  Private individuals in need of health equipment or dealing with a personal emergency or trauma can contact the Bayfield Lions Club P.O. Box 2107, Bayfield ON N0M 1G0 directly with a private letter, treated in strict confidence.

The Bayfield Lions Club does not subsidize event consumables such as food, food trucks, alcohol, wages, honourariums, mileage, gift cards or raffle prizes.  Costs that enhance the social activity and cultural vitality of Bayfield are welcome, such as performance fees for musicians, speakers, street artists, DJ’s or similar.

To make a strong case for your project, refer to the Five Goals of the Bayfield 150 Anniversary Programme above.  Please use bullet points wherever possible to streamline your proposal. 

Thank you for taking time to make a complete submission.   You can also forward supporting documents such as promotional scripts or digital posters, press releases or partner confirmations that indicate the scope, support and excitement for the project.     These can be sent to bayfieldlions@gmail.com under the Subject “150 Celebration proposal”
